We always come away impressed with the build quality of Ultra Reef aquarium products and their new UCS calcium reactors are no different. Ultra Reef is making their new UCS with a classic cacium reactor design in two sizes, each built to be elegant and extremely solid.
All of the inlets and outlets enter and exit the reactor from the lid with quick disconnect fittings and supplied pH probe port. A strong and silent Sicce Syncra pump powers the UCS reactors and are mounted underneath for a space-saving design.
The Ultra Reef UCS 140 holds three liters of media and should cost around around $500 while the larger UCS 180 holds six liters of media and will retail for closer to $675. Dosing has become increasingly popular in recent years but as the success rates with stony corals increases, the need for high quality, easy to use calcium reactors has never been greater, and the UCS will certainly be on our short list for consideration in the future.
