It’s been about five years since the renaissance of reef aquarium sumps really kicked off and it has resulted in a huge diversity of very interesting, innovative, and radical designs. We think now it’s about time we see the trusty aquarium stand get the same kind of attention and Brazil’s Artero Aquarismo is definitely part of that vanguard.
Artero Aquarismo has been building nice stand for medium to large size aquariums for some time but a new design they recently shared is really pushing the envelope. Built for a classy ADA 45-P this grey clad stand has a nice splash of bright white on its interior.
But it’s what you don’t see in its normal state that really grabbed our attention, it has not one but TWO sliding drawers that are for a heckuva lot more than just storing random aquarium stuff. The upper drawer has a sliding compartment that contains the top off reservoir, and it’s not really meant to slide out with its fairly thin drawer track.
But the beefier lower drawer has more than enough to slide out the entire sump making it easy as possible to both service the reef tech it contains, and to observe or inspect every angle of the sump. We know Sandy’s Pet Shop in Louisville has had a complete sliding sump under one of their displays for over a decade but there hasn’t been nearly enough ‘inspiration’ by sump and stand builders to make our stand way cooler and more practical.
And to the guys at Artero Aquarismo we just want to say “ótimo trabalho pessoal!“
