If you want to see a great example of a thriving, successful reef tank with proven results, and no tricks or gimmicks, we’ve got just the video for you. Leading up to ReefStock Australia in a few weeks, we paid a special visit to our good friend Cris Capp of Aquatic Art in Highlands Ranch, Colorado to talk about his reefing philosophy, and how he built and maintains his 500 gallon reef tank.
Cris Capp and his staff at Aquatic Art specialize at installing and maintaining very high end but low profile reef tanks ranging from hundreds of gallons up to 2,000 gallons. These are reef tanks we’re talking about, fully loaded with with, rock, corals, commercial equipment etc. so his cumulative reefing experience is deep and substantial.
The Aquatic Art ‘store’ actually arose organically from a need to support their maintenance accounts and while it’s only open two days a week, it’s become the go-to retail reef aquarium shop in the greater Denver area, especially if you’re looking for quality frags and live corals. We’ve actually been trying to secure Cris as a speaker for ReefStock since the very beginning of the event but he’s been in such demand for installing big tanks, it’s only recently that we’ve been able to make it happen.
Cris Capp’s talk at ReefStock Denver focused on coral health and how it’s a precursor to coral growth and coral color, everything else must follow. At ReefStock Australia Cris Capp will expand on his talk to help give reefers the tips and information they need to have the highest chances for success, which pretty much begins and ends with basic aquarium fundamentals, as discussed in our latest video feature and interview.
