Red Sea released a full video on its new Reefer 3XL 900 aquarium, the most extensive Red Sea Reef system, to date at 240 total system gallons. One of the most helpful new features is a separate sump section allowing you to add additional filtration as a larger refugium or even as a dedicated frag tank. The 3XL 900 introduces an enlarged overflow box with dual side-facing return pump outlets and increased surface skimming that provides ideal water circulation in the tanks with flows of up to 10,000 lph / 2600 gph with options for a single or dual return pumps. Although 2600 gph is nice, we’d love to see how the community hacks the system to include more gph throughout. The unit should start shipping in 2020 in the United States with Europe and other countries receiving their units faster. Red Sea developed the all in one aquarium and turned the concept on its head by focusing mostly on reef tanks. If you’re looking at a tank this zie, the Red Sea Reefer 3XL 900 is a very nicely done system.
