D-D The Aquarium Solution has added a second formulation to its popular H2Ocean salt brand. H2Ocean Dosing Formula is designed for reef aquariums that don’t need a salt with elevated levels because they already maintain KH and Calcium via dosing or a Calcium reactor.
This means that those who already dose 2-part, use kalkwasser, a calcium reactor or other similar dosing regimes can conduct a water change with D-D’s new salt without experiencing a spike in their KH or Calcium levels. It will also appeal to the growing number of reefers who either want to maintain chemistry nearer to that of natural seawater or who crave maximum color from their corals versus growth.
Just like D-D’s Pro formula salt, the new Dosing formula is made from natural seawater that goes through solar evaporative processes and boasts a full 70 major and minor trace elements according to its makers. Compare the analysis and Calcium and Magnesium levels are still similar to the Pro recipe at 435 and 1320mg/l versus 440 and 1340mg/l, but KH is a lot lower with a range of 7.8-8.2 with the Dosing Formula, versus 9.3-10.3 for the Pro.
It comes in a 23Kg Bucket for 592-702 liters, which is 50.7 lbs for 156-185 US Gallons.
