We’ve been excitedly watching the progress of automatic roll filters in the aquarium space since 2010 with ever more practical models being introduced and offered in the last several years. With their unique perspective on designing aquarium products we had confidence that Red Sea could create a very compelling version of a ‘Roller Mat’ and were delighted when we reported in December that the Red Sea ReefMat was officially coming.
It’s only been a couple of months since their announcement but we are thrilled to announce that the newest roll filter, and easily one of the most exciting new products of 2022 will be making it’s world debut at ReefStock this weekend in Denver! The current crop of automatic filter rolls have come a long way but still have some ground to improve in terms of loading/reloading the filter roll, being able to easily fit in popular sump models and designs, and Red Sea took it a step further with Smart features like integration with the ReefBeat app to not only tell you that you’ve run out, but it’ll let you know when you’re going to run out based on daily consumption rates.
Us aquarium journalists often have to travel to Europe to see the latest and greatest from European and Middle Eastern companies from across the pond but we are beyond excited that we’re just a few days away from seeing what the next generation of automatic roll filtration looks like.
