Seachem is launching a new line of Fish Nets which are among the most thoughtful and well considered versions of the venerable aquarium tool to be released in a very long while. As an aquarium accessory fish nets are indispensable but despite their utility they get very little fanfare – it’s not like there’s any benefit to adding LEDs to a fish net or pairing it with an app, why would you?
Aquarists give very little consideration to the cup shaped net attached to a long handle unless there’s something wrong with them like when they break, when fish get stuck in them, or when they’re just not appropriately sized for the job. With these limitations in mind Seachem is launching no less than 16 different fish nets in six different net sizes from three to twelve inches wide, and a standard 12 inch long handle.
In addition to these net sizes there’s going to be two models of Seachem Fish Nets with an extra long handle of sixteen inches long paired with either the five or eight inch net size. And then for handling the smaller or more delicate aquarium species like tiny tetras, gobies, or fragile shrimp there’s also a fine mesh option for each of the net and handle sizes which we’ll gladly put into service for specific cleaning application such as removing slime and particles during extended coral dipping sessions.
The dark colored net should be much harder for fish to see coming than the classic white or green mesh sizes that are most commonly available in the aquarium hobby and the blue handles certainly look much nicer in our fish rooms than the gaudy solid green ones that have been around for decades.
