Montipora-eating Nudibranchs affect our team’s corals on both sides of the Atlantic, and even the world-famous Reef Builders Studio is not free of these pests. As Evan Montgomery says, a large Monitpora colony can be affected by nudibranchs but still appear otherwise healthy, and colorful, and continue to grow.
We have the luxury of being able to remove whole corals from our coral flats but even then a dip (every available coral dip we’ve tried,) hasn’t seemed to be effective on the eggs, so Evan takes a different approach to managing these hitchhikers as best he can via physical removal of the adults, and then dealing separately with the eggs.
Check out his top Monitpora-eating nudibranch removal tools, tips, and tricks on how to find and manage them, including what fish will eat nudibranchs in the video.
