When Reef Factory released The Smart Roller M we predicted that, like the lights, a smaller S and a larger L model would follow. Today Reef Factory has confirmed that with the release of two new Smart Roller sizes on their social media.
“Since many of you have been asking about Smart rollers that could easily serve larger tanks as well as a version that would fit into the smaller sumps out there, we’d like to give you a little update on the two more sizes that are coming out soon.” Reef Factory said today on Facebook.
Smart Rollers S, and L
The new Smart Roller S is just 14cm / 5.5? wide, by 48cm / 19? high by 12cm / 5? front to back, and can handle flow rates of up to 5000lph/1321gph. The media basket underneath is 10.5cm x 10.5cm x 5cm (4”x4?x2?).
Smart Roller L is 35 cm / 14? wide, by 55cm / 21.5? high by 12cm / 5? front to back, and can handle flow rates of up to 15000lph/3963gph. The media basket underneath is 25cm x 10.5cm x 5cm (10?x4?x2?).
Key to every Reef Factory device is the Smart Reef App, and the Smart Rollers are no different. App control allows for a dedicated control panel with a new interface, faster and easier device configuration, information on how long your roll will last, notifications when it’s time for roll replacement, choosing the speed of scrolling, roll jam alerts, and a delayed start option.
The 50-micron fleece is 40 meters/131’ long and is estimated to last 1.5 months on the S model, and up to 4 months on the L, but roll longevity will vary greatly depending on mechanical load. European pricing will start at 320 and 400 euros, but international pricing and launch times may vary.
