We admit to following and admiring this aquarium for a while, and although it’s existed in several guises since 2015, the bright, tabling acros and pristine, immaculately clean tank always manage to keep it looking like new. We caught up with tank owner Grzegorz Grebosz, to find out about the equipment, products, and methods he uses to keep his latest creation absolutely on point.
How long have you been keeping saltwater aquariums?
I’ve been keeping saltwater aquariums since 2014. I moved to this new aquarium in March 2023. This is a continuation of a system I set up in 2015.

Light: Ecotech Radions – 8 x XR15 Skimmer: Reef Octo Regal 200 INT Return pump: Reef Octo Vario S 8 Water flow: Vortech 4 x MP40QD KH Lab from Pacific Sun
What reefing method/products do you use?
I am using Aquaforest Probiotic Method. I dose Pro Bio S (5 drops daily) and Pro Bio F twice a week (1 measuring spoon).

Nitrate 0.5- 1ppm Phosphate – 0.02 ppm Ca: 430ppm Mg: 1350ppm KH: 7.0-7.4 dKH
Have you had any problems/wipeouts along the way?
The biggest problem was after changing the light from T5 to LEDs. After the light changed NO3 and PO4 started to run low and I had to start dosing, increasing them every week, but the dosage was still at 0. An overdose resulted in an increase of 0.25ppm and I had a problem with Bryopsis.
Are your corals wild/maricultured/aquacultured, or all three? If so are some harder to keep than others?
All of the above. Wild corals need more attention and acclimatization to the aquarium environment. If the aquarium management systems are very different like UNLS to high nutrients – there may be problems.
What’s your favorite coral right now?
Pink Acropora latistella
What would be your dream home aquarium?
If dreams have no limits, it would be ideal if the aquarium could grow along with the growth of corals!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to set up a tank to replicate yours?
You can’t replicate someone else’s aquarium because it can lead to frustration. It’s best to choose your own path to build your dream reef.
Do you dip your corals?
Yes – I dip all of my corals – even the ones I take from friends.
Have you had any pests in the tank?
Yes – I had flatworms and coral bugs.
What are the par/settings for your lights?
I have 750 PAR in the middle of the tank. I am running my own program on Radions.
What is your daily routine for the tank?
Coral feeding with supplements & foods: AF Energy 3 drops daily AF Build 3 drops daily AF Power Food 3 measuring spoons every 2-3 days AF Growth Boost 2 measuring spoons every other day AF Power Elixir 15 ml / daily
Water change: 10% a week using Reef Salt or if nutrients are higher than I expected I do a water change with Hybrid Pro Salt. Ca, KH, and Mg suplementation: Calcium reactor and Components Pro in 50/50 ratio. The best time of the day is at 9 p.m. when the aquarium has the nicest lighting for me and I spend time observing and drawing conclusions.
Are there any fish or corals on your wish list?
Yes – as a big fan of Acropora corals, the Flaming acropora is on my wishlist.
