Encouraging news is coming out of Germany as Interzoo, the world’s biggest pet and aquatic trade show, has confirmed record exhibitor bookings for the biennial event in May 2024. Interzoo has had a rocky few years because of the global pandemic, canceling completely in 2020 because of Covid, before moving to 2021 with much-reduced visitor and exhibitor numbers. Many of the world’s biggest aquatic companies did not attend.
But now, it looks like Interzoo is back and bigger than ever with event organizers WZF declaring more stand registrations than ever before, spanning exhibitors from 63 countries worldwide, and across a record 14 exhibition halls. You’d better take some comfy footwear because Interzoo 2024 is going to be a big one!
“The continuing strong demand from exhibitors shows the importance of the event and confirms we’re on the path to a great Interzoo 2024,” says Dr Rowena Arzt, Head of Exhibitions at Interzoo organizer WZF – Pet Industry Services. “Interzoo has become the world’s leading trade fair for the pet industry due to a supporting program that is at the pulse of the industry, numerous networking events with industry innovators and decision-makers, the world’s most comprehensive range of products and services for pets and Nuremberg as an attractive location and exhibition venue in the heart of Europe.”
With more than 1,300 exhibitors and 28,000 trade visitors from 129 countries in 2018, Interzoo is the undisputed world’s leading international fair for pet supplies. Although Interzoo caters for every pet from cat and dog to small furries, birds, and reptiles, it has a huge aquatic offering with pretty much all the world’s biggest and best aquatic companies in attendance, including, of course, the saltwater sector.
Aquatic retail stores attend Interzoo to see new products, wholesalers attend to source and sell products as well as large aquarium brands to show off their wears and meet suppliers from all over the world. We’ve been attending Interzoo since 2006 and it is definitely the place to be to see new reef product launches, stunning wet displays, and hopefully, some rare fish and corals for us to bring to you too. Be warned though, it is a trade-only event, so you need to be working in the aquarium industry in order to attend.
Interzoo started way back in 1950, there have been 38 shows to date and the NürnbergMesse has been its home in Nuremberg, Germany, since 1988. on Interzoo, Jake Adams said “If you’ve ever been to Reefapalooza or MACNA, multiply it by ten,” and he even traveled through the halls by scooter! The next Interzoo show will take place on 7-10 May 2024. We’ll see you there!
