Tropical Marine Centre is now offering an ICP water testing service via a partnership with ICP Analysis.com in the US. Four different tests will be available from launch, one to test 13+ elements in saltwater, one to test 50+ elements in saltwater, and then the same again to test saltwater and an RO/DI sample in the same pack.
The service will be available to TMC customers in the UK, (London,) and Europe, via TMC Lisbon in Portugal.
TMC says that it will ship tests to ICP Analysis in Lakewood, Colorado several times a week and that user results will be accessible within 4-7 working days. Users can create an account with ICP Analysis in the usual way but also download a CSV file and upload the results to TMC’s new FAViA app. FAViA is the first we’ve seen to use OpenAI Artificial Intelligence to offer guidance based on your water test results, while also being able to control selected TMC equipment at the same time.
ICP Analysis uses ICP-MS technology which boasts detection levels down to parts per trillion. The 50+ Mass Spec test actually tests for 60 elements in saltwater, although not all 60 are tested in RO/DI samples. The 13+ test can be upgraded to a 50+ test if required via an in-app purchase. Pricing ranges from £17.99 for the single 13+ Marine Test to £34.99 for the 50+ saltwater and RO/DI test combined.
