White longnose butterflyfish is the latest rarity from Abyss Aquatics

white longnose butterflyfish

The white longnose butterflyfish that landed at Abyss Aquatics in the UK is at once quite surprise and not a surprise at all. On the one hand the longnose butterflyfish, Forcipiger longirostris, and its black form is one of the oldest documented color aberrations of reef fish and on the flipside, butterflyfish have very consistent color and markings which very seldom deviate from the norm. Abyss Aquatics received this white longnose butterflyfish over a month ago, about the same time that they scored the White Scopas Tang that we already wrote about. We hope the white longnose goes to good reef aquarium home and that it retains its unique coloration well into the future.

This is straight away to R. Pinto from Reeforum and the mod´s lovers who claim this “hybrid” to be from nature.

Why arent there photos of them in the sea? They are all “productions” from Reef Builders and the photos are from aquariums. Give me a break, genetic mod. is “crime” and ugly. Definately not nature. Cheers
