The KW Reactor 300 from Two Little Fishies is one of the more mechanical products that company has ever made. 2 lil’ is better known for making filter media, additives, unique foods and practical aquarium accessories. We mistakenly reported that the KW Reactor required a 1200 gallons per hour feed pump, which should have read 1200 liters per hour feed pump, or about 300 gph and for $100-$120 the pump will not come with. Nor will the KW Reactor come with the timer required to turn the pump on and off in short intervals throughout the day. Julian you know we love you; this kalk reactor design is very innovative and all but we’re going to need a lot more features/convincing before we can spend twice as much for what basically amounts to a supersized phosban reactor with a cone and a tube. Perhaps the cylinder is made of cast acrylic and the parts are all more ruggedized than they appear but that doesn’t change fact that the KW Reactor doesn’t do anything until you throw at least another $50 at it, or potentially much more if you buy a premium timer and pump. Time will tell the true value and cost of the KW Reactor 300 when 2 lil’s kalkreactor starts shipping sometime this month.
