The PAR 38 Torch is a new spotlight from Sunbrite Lighting which will be rocking their custom made 60 degree primary lens for increased PAR and shimmer. Instead of using the industry standard combo of primary and secondary lenses like the current generation Sunbrite PAR 38 LED spotlights, the PAR 38 Torch will be using the same 60 degree optic that Sunbrite developed for use on their Gen2 LED tubes. The use of a single optic of 60 degrees should increase the efficiency of the light transmission (higher PAR) and it should also preserve the glimmer lines that comes from having point sources of lighting, an effect which is somewhat subdued by the use of a larger secondary lens and diffusers. The new 60 degree optic will likely be hand soldered to the spotlight’s circuit board so we expect it will cost about the same as their current PAR 38 LED lamp. The first PAR 38 LED torch lamps should be available first in 15 watt power level, with an all UVA and a blue and white combo lamp will be the first colors available.
