The new magnetic ceramic branch-shelves from The Alternative Reef demonstrate that the company has continued to improve on the design of their original magnetic cermic rock shelf. The new branch shelves are very uniquely shaped and they can be used to support growing coral as well as to hide side mounted propeller pumps like the Vortech MP40 pump in the image above. The weight of the shelves requires the use of three Sure Grip 100 magnets to hold the structure firmly to the tank wall. No word on pricing yet, but expect them to cost beacoup-bucks. Consider though that these branch shelves are hand made in small quantities, contain $105 in magnets and are quite expensive to package and ship. The production of these shelves is still very limited, as the best way to ship these intricate ceramic sculptures is still being developed.We have some more pictures after the break and for more info be sure to checkout the Alternative Reef website.
