When we first heard that Picasso clarkii were coming from Bali Aquarich, our initial thought was that these Amphiprion clarkii were only slightly picasso-barred. But once we saw the Picasso clarkii clownfish at House of Fins it was clear that this strain has been in development at least for a few generations, probably beginning with some of the pearl-eye variants of the Clarkii clownfish.
However good this crop of Picasso clarkii clownfish looks, we have to wonder what the distribution of the quality is like. ORA has various grades of their snowflake and picasso strains and we have to imagine that the Picasso clarkii also show the same kind of variability. This batch of Picasso clarkii looks cherry-picked for quality but if Aqua Terra Distributors can keep importing them at this level of quality, it will only be a matter of time until we see picasso clarkii all around the country.
