The incredible Bali deep water Acros that we first heard about in early November and which made top 10 corals of 2011 are now in the US of A. Both Oculus Aquatics and Route 66 Marine received a sizable shipments of the bali maricultured acroporas, along with tons of beautiful Acropora millipora of every color. We were thrilled to see just about all of the exciting species of deep water Bali Acropora represented at Southern California coral wholesalers and also soon to be received by Russo’s Reef in NY.
Among the shipment of maricultured Bali deep water acros were Acropora elegans, Acropora echinata, Acropora pichoni, Acropora batunai and a few other species that are a little more difficult to identify. Of course among all the deepwater acros we saw several pieces of the exquisite Acropora speciosa that was one of the first species we wrote about.
Check out the sampling of the maricultured deep water Acropora from Bali that we photographed at Oculus and Route this week and if your LFS bought corals from either suppliers this week you may be lucky enough to spot some specimens already in your favorite fish store.
