The white cap clownfish, Amphirpion leucokranos, is a very rare, naturally occurring hybrid clownfish “species” which is seldom seen in the aquarium trade. You can imagine ORA’s delight when Brian Griffin offered them a spawning pair of white cap clownfish which he had raised and conditioned for three years at Ocean Gallery II in New Jersey.
One unfortunate event followed by a series of very fortunate events allowed this irreplaceable pair of Amphiprion leucokranos to survive a harrowing journey of more than a week in limbo, and some really classy Memphis aquarists had a lot to do with it.
