The Sicce Syncra water pumps are some of the quietest and most efficient on the market, yet that hasn’t stopped their maker from perfecting the design. Feeling like they had some room to improve the larger Syncra 4 and Syncra 5 water pumps, Sicce worked to make them as quiet as possible, aiming to best the Eheim Hobby pump’s 40dB quietude. By adding baffles in the outlet, a thicker, more robust volute housing and some extra thick silicone rubber feet, Sicce managed to reach the low hanging fruit of improvements.
After over 9 months of engineering Sicce scored a new type of external bearing which looks like a darker ceramic and which really helped the Syncra squeak under the 40dB threshold of sound output they were aiming for. Some of the new and improved Sicce Syncra 4 &5 have already begun shipping and they can be distinguished by the features listed above, and by the black backing as opposed to the old dark gray one.
