The NeWave propeller water pump from Aquarium Systems has been available for just over two years yet it is already getting a refresh. The (new) NeWave seems to bring with it primarily two big changes, in the design of the propeller and of the magnet suction cup mount. First of all instead of the straight blades of the previous model the impeller now has a curved blades which help increase efficiency by pushing 20% more water. The other major change is in the addition of a layer of silicone in the magnet suction cup mount to decrease any noise coming from the NeWave. The NeWave is primarily distributed in Europe but American reefers should pay attention since the first NeWave’s design seemed to have been the foundation for Coralife’s circulation pumps, especially the propeller and the mounting.
