The Blue Squamosa Clams from last week are starting to get around and man are these beauties great. Some people also love Mini Maxi pseudo-carpet anemones and we just happened to capture one cozying up to a stunning small-blue-spotted squamosa clam. At this size the blue squamosa clam definitely has the shell and mantle of the species Tridacna squamosa, but you could argue that the mantle isn’t that far removed from the appearance of a blue spotted Crocea clam. However, when you consider how big the blue spotted squamosa clams are going to get and quickly too, you see wherein lies their appeal. We think this form of blue squamosa clam will look kind of like a blue spotted gigas on crack, with more exaggerated folds to the mantle and shell. See for yourself after the break.
