The Modular LED Aquarium Light from Aqueon will hopefully follow up the great execution we saw with their Evolve series desktop nano tanks. Aqueon’s Modular LED Aquarium Light is shipping now to distributors in a basic model which includes a single white-light tube installed in the center slot and a cute little blue moonlight. Additional tubes of LEDs in all white or in a “color max” option with one third of the LEDs being red is available now and an actinic version will hopefully be shipping by the end of the year. Aqueon’s Modular LED Aquarium Light fixtures come in 20, 24, 30, 36 and 48 inch length but they have yet to map out the pricing for either the full fixtures and additional tubes. Aqueon won’t be breaking any coral-growing speed records but they are sure to appeal to many entry-level aquarium keepers looking for a simple way to make their fish pop without using a ton of power.
