Last week we shared with you the peculiar Auto ZR zeolite reactor from Perfect Reef Systems (PRS)and with no Japanese-reading skills to speak of, we deduced that the device was designed to bounce zeolite to dislodged biofilms. Correctly. There’s not much else that a spring can be used for, in this application, and upon our request PRS produced and shared the video of their novel Auto ZR Reactor.
As you can see in this action video, the Auto ZR reactor is fitted with a motor on its top which actuates and back and forth motion to push the zeolite action chamber against the ‘resin-coated’ spring. The coil bounces back producing a near perfect and rhythmic bouncing of the large zeolite chunks with a rhythm that we could never have imagined.
Of course this kind of fancy machination would have to come from the country that makes robots and gundams of everything, Japan, and all the engineering and automation won’t come cheap. The Auto ZR automatic zeovit reactor carries a suggested retail price of ¥177,500 which is about $1,900, a lot of money for a zeovit reactor to be sure but reefers who are dosing the full regimen of zeovit additives on a daily basis are probably well off enough to at least consider getting one.
