The Maxspect R420R “Razor” series is getting a big brother with the release of the Maxspect R420R “Razor” 300W LED Lighting Fixture. When we were at MACNA, we spied the Maxspect Razor 200 measuring in at 36 in. but now those of us with longer tanks can get full coverage with the Maxspect Razor 300, a 48-in. long fixture packing 300W of coral-feeding photons.
The svelte fixture is on par with the other slender Maxspect Razor models hitting a 0.9 in. thick at its largest point. The new Maxspect Razor 300 will be available in 8,000K, 10,000K & 16,000K Color Spectrums using Cree XLamp, XT-E & XP-E LED chips configured in two channels for full dawn-to-dusk control. The 10,000 and 16,000K models of the Maxspect Razor 300 take advantage of 410/420nm Super Actinic LED chips. As the company notes, the spectrum is crucial as it is required by Chlorophyll A for photosynthesis, where absorption peaks at 412nm.
If you are looking to get your hands on this fixture, expect it to start trickling through the distribution channel over the next few weeks with a pricetag around $899.
