Polyp Lab made this video to demonstrate the feeding response of coral polyps to their new Polyp Booster food, but we like it because it’s simply well made. Several coral specimens from very broad groups are equally represented in this fun time lapse of corals’ feeding responses.
Dancing zoanthid polyps, twitching Octocorals like Sarcophyton, pipe organ and even Dendronephthya get their feeding frenzy on when the Polyp Booster is presented to them. We’ve actually watched Dendros twitch their polyps in real time and despite this being a time lapse, those polyps are really responding well to the food.
The best part of the video is the Maelstrom of food vortexing on the oral disc of a large Blastomussa polyp at 2:00, if you see no other coral video watch that part, it’s freaking cool.
