We have to say, we do enjoy fine acrylic-smithing and the team at Bashsea continues to impress with the next generation of its Bashsea Bio-Reactor.
What in intriguing is Bashsea is looking to take a different approach from a simple bio-pellet tumbler, making something more efficient, particularly for larger bio-loads. What the company dubs as their proprietary BIO-MASS moving bed media, it provides 30% more surface area and bio capacity than any other media.
The team was looking for a new take on the “Kaldness” media — from the shape and internal and external structure — and worked on getting it redesigned to meet their standards. The company touts this design as capable of working on systems from 100 to 10,000 gallons.
The overall system itself seemed to get a redesign as well. Where the previous version had a media plate with small holes, this one showcases curved slits more like turbine blades that most likely produce a more efficient and effective churning motion. An intriguing pieces of equipment for sure.
The new version is available and shipping now.
