Chalice Power and Nutrigorg are two new foods from Two Little Fishies which are among the first offerings to target these specific groups of aquarium corals. Developed by Justin Credabel and along the lines of Goniopower, Chalice Power and Nutrigorg are made from very similar ingredients with some special formulations to make them more suitable for feeding their respective groups of corals.
As with all coral foods, both Nutrigorg and Chalice Power are suitable for feeding a wide range of aquarium corals. But Nutrigorg is specially formulated with little bits that are more buoyant so they float in the water column where hungry gorgonian polyps can more readily filter feed them out. Meanwhile Chalice Power is the ‘opposite’ of Nutrigorg, with a formulation that is especially quick-sinking so it can land on chalice coral mouths and therefore be swept into the chalice coral colony to feed on.
We don’t expect the nutritional profile of either Nutrigorg or Chalice Power to deviate much from Goniopower too much, but what matters most in coral feeding is getting the food to your intended coral. So if the long suspension time of Nutrigorg and quick sink rate of Chalice Power can really cater to the specific feeding type of these respective coral groups, we’re all for it.
