Aqua Medic has been busily modernizing their fleet of reef aquarium gear with the latest product line to get the refresh is their DC Runner centrifugal pumps. Earlier last year the DC Runners were upgraded with point-one designation that featured refinements across the board.
The newest and largest pump in Aqua Medic’s stables is the DC Runner 9.1 capable of delivering up to 2,377 gallons per hour, or 9,000 liters, up to a head of 11.5 feet high. Like any good modern DC pump, the DC runner is fully controllable, with an input for external 0-10v control and it consumes a maximum 65 watts of power.
One of the most recognizable features of the DC Runner series, including the largest 9.1 model is the clear volute allowing you to see the state and cleanliness of the impeller, even while it’s running. Probably the best part of the DC Runner 9.1 is its price which retails for $228, quite a bit less than comparable pumps with this flow rate, leaving you with even more cash to spend on livestock.
