Atomic Aquatic BC1
The BC1 is Atomic Aquatics first foray into the BCD market, and hopefully not their last. This new BCD has a sleek matte black finish and comes with innovative features that set it apart from the competition.
BC1 is made using a double-laminated polyurethane fabric that sheds water and shortens your drying time after each dive. The fabric is soft to the touch and feels unlike anything else we’ve come across in other BCDs.
Atomic has come up with a ratchet cam band, similar to ratchets used on snowboard binding to connect the BCD to a tank. The new cam band is easy to adjust and locks in place for a snug fit around any dive tank.
BC1 features a patented EZ-LOK weight release system which clips into the back of the BCD pocket with minimal effort. Each ditchable pocket can hold ten pounds of weight, and back trim pockets hold five pounds each for a total of 30lbs.
For a low-pressure inflator, drivers can choose between the Atomic Ai power inflator or Atomic SS1 safe second inflator. Each of these inflators comes in a silver or titanium edition and are sold separately from the BCD.
BC1 comes in two color, black/red and black and will cost $1399.95 before purchasing an inflator. BC1 is expected to start shipping in January 2017.
