The AquaMaxx Prism LED light is the latest and thinnest light from the company. The AquaMaxx Prism is built from an aluminum unibody frame and measures in just under 1/2 in. thick while packing a bit more LED punch than its previous light.
AquaMaxx added more colored LEDs as well as another controllable color channel giving you more options to dial in your lights from a bright 10,000K to a 20,000K super blue light and everwhere in between.
This new light also decouples the controller from the body, opting to include it separate with a pair of controlling buttons and a digital display. The controller appears to give you the standard options of control — date and time, light intensity, storm mode, etc.
The Prism has just four set points, allowing you to set the color options and time for sunrise, midday, sunset, and night, so you can ramp up and down the intensity of the lights. While this doesn’t sound like much, it is enough for most applications and get a light schedule that is appealing and practical.
AquaMaxx uses 64 0.5W LEDs in the small 24W version distributed in seven over the three channels. These include 20 White (Channel 1), 8 Royal Blue (Channel 1), 28 Royal Blue (Channel 2), 2 Blue (Channel 3), 2 Warm White (Channel 3), 2 UV (Channel 3), 1 Red (Channel 3) and 1 Green (Channel 3).
The Prism comes in four sizes a 24W for 13 to 20 in. tanks, a 48W for 24-36 in. tanks, a 72W for 36-48 in. tanks and a 96W for 48-60 in. tanks that range in price from $99.99 to $249.99.
