Marine Ich is undeniably one of the most deadly marine aquarium diseases our tropical saltwater fish have to face in captivity. It’s a big deal not because it’s particularly lethal, but because there’s simply so much misinformation about this ubiquitous parasite.
The best thing you can do to avoid your fish suffering or succumbing to ich, also known as Cryptocaryon irritans, is to take it seriously, and especially to catch it early. The only way to eradicate this disease from saltwater aquariums with fish is through real medications like copper.
