Zeagle RECON
Zeagle announced they are now shipping their new RECON technical fin. The Zeagle RECON is designed for advanced performance and technical kicking styles, like frog kick, and helicopter turns. This type of kicking is used by technical divers to avoid disturbing sediment in tight locations, perfect trim and buoyancy, and to conserve energy reducing breathing rates.
Extensive research and development went into creating the RECON fin including testing for optimal responsiveness and stability, as well as testing durable natural rubbers used for the final design.
The RECON fin is compression molded allowing for varying rubber thickness across the fin blade. The blade has four strakes or ridges on the bottom of the fin which contain higher volumes of water for increased thrust for alternate kicking styles, and reduced turbulence for a stable flutter kick.
“We wanted to produce a fin that was uncomplicated in design but as technical as you can get,” says Brand Manager, Bruce Sparks. “We’ve achieved this with Recon, combining the latest aquadynamic technology with a tough and minimalist form.”
The RECON has a simple buckle system using a single screw and self-locking nut allowing divers to adjusts the strap length up to 2″ (5cm). This feature ensures the RECON will accommodate various wetsuits and drysuit boot sizes. And if you want to make sure your RECON fins are easy to recognize you can upgrade your buckle system to yellow, red, or blue.
RECON is the first fin developed by ZEAGLE, remastering old design with innovative technology capable of providing industry-leading thrust and control for all types of alternative kicking styles.
The Zeagle RECON Fin is now shipping and available at your local retailer.
