Innovative Marine NUVO INT are a new line of tanks with an internal overflow

Innovative Marine NUVO INT is a new line of aquariums that feature their trapezoid “Infinity Overflow,” an internal coast-to-coast overflow with a “Bean Animal” inspired three drain set up.

Similar to the NUVO EXT series of tanks, the NUVO INT hit on all the right notes for a quality glass box –ultra-thick high clarity low iron glass that is diamond edged flat polished, laser-cut black acrylic weir overflow and black silicone. However, it hits exactly on what most who are looking for an internal overflow need, especially with a coast-to-coast overflow.

Anyone who’s tinkered with overflow plumbing have come across the famous “Bean Animal” design using three drains for a quiet and safe operation. In the Innovative Marine version, you’ll find two inlets for the drainage system, one with a 90-degree elbow to put the intake close to the bottom to keep detritus to a minimum and one to break the siphon in case of a power outage. The primary overflow is controlled by a valve to adjust the flow rate.

The third drain serves as an emergency overflow. The water return is delivered back into the tank via a dual flare LOC-Line nozzle. The NUVO INTO also features their new Pro Series screen lid that ditches the clips uses new remolded corners that also eliminate the gap for fish to escape.

There will be three versions the Innovative Marine NUVO INT 50, NUVO INT 75 and NUVO INT 100 that hold 50, 75 and 100 gallons respectively.

Innovative Marine INT 75 – 75-gallon capacity, 12mm glass, measures in at 34.5 x 23.6 x 19.7 in., 1 in. pre-drilled overflow and plumbing, ¾ in. pre-drilled return line recommended for a 750-1500 GPH pump.

Innovative Marine INT 100 – 100-gallon capacity, 15mm glass, measures in at 47.3 x 23.6 x 19.7 in., 1 in. pre-drilled overflow and plumbing, ¾ in. pre-drilled return line recommended for a 1000-2000 GPH pump.

The NUVO INT will be showcased at MACNA and hopefully available right around that time if not before. We also heard they have modified their APS Stands to accommodate these INT tanks and that there will be an EXT version of these tanks that feature a 16 in. external center overflow, with the modified three-drain Bean Animal set up.
