The Automatic Frozen Fish Food Feeder as a concept is something that we’ve seen before in home DIY incarnations, but never in a professionally developed, commercial version. InD Creations aims to change that with their Auto Frozen Feeder which looks about as compact as you could possibly make something like this, which is good since it will have to rest on the tank for food to drop in.
The Auto Frozen Feeder from InD Creations consists of four main components, all necessary to provide an automated feeding of frozen fish foods. These parts include an insulated compartment for holding the food, a cooling unit with external fan to keep it frozen, a ‘carousel’ to advance cubes of frozen food, and an external controller to program the feeder to do your bidding.
The InD Creations Auto Frozen Feeder will nominally feed seven whole cubes of frozen food using the standard carousel and feeding once a day. But you’ll be able to extend feeding time by spacing out feeding days, or using carousels with different cube sizes and an optional cube cutter to precisely cut cubes into halves and quarters, as well as molds if you like to make your own frozen food
The machine itself uses a thermoelectric cooling element to keep everything sub-zero, a top mounted fan helps to drive the cooling and the overall size of the machine measures just under four inches square at the base and five inches tall.
Before you get your hopes up, InD Creations is being up-front about the realistic ship date which is expected to be one year of further development. However in just over two months InD Creations will launch a crowdfunding campaign where they hope to sell 500 units to fund the development and manufacturing of the Auto Frozen Feeder in earnest. It’s possible that we might see a demo version of the new inD Creations Auto Frozen Feeder at MACNA to help promote the launch of the crowdfunding so we hope to learn more in Orlando at the end of August.
