The MaxSpect Coral Grippers are the newest addition to the company’s rapidly expanding catalog of aquarium accessories. The reef aquarium hobby is a very unique past time, necessitating and sometimes actually requiring very specific tools for accomplishing certain tasks.
If you don’t have a very wide or very deep tank, you may never even consider the need for some kind of gripper or extended tongs to get some extra reach. But even if you don’t have a very deep tank, sometimes you just need to get some extra reach between some rock holes or crevices to retrieve a frag that has fallen through.
For those of us have a need for this kind of extended reach, we’ve had to resort in using commercially available tongs and grabbers, with all their disadvantages. These cheap devices are not designed nor intended for regular aquarium use and the corrosion resulting from exposure to both water and salt. To counter this Maxspect has designed their Coral Grabbers specifically for aquarium use, with corrosion resistant stainless steel spring, non-skid rubber tips that are gentle on corals, and very grippy on aquarium rocks.
Just as important as not rusting or losing their grip, the Maxspect Coral Grabbers are touted as having a very strong grip, also useful for not dropping delicate corals but could make these tongs useful in smaller adjustments to larger aquascapes.
