There’s never been a harder time to travel the country and visit or discover new reef aquarium stores. The pandemic lockdown might be rolling over to its second year but we’ve got just the antidote for the stay at home blues in the form of a video tour of a boutique reef aquarium shop.
Late last year we made a quick, socially distanced visit to Florida to see how our reef Fam at Worldwide Corals was getting along and mostly to see how the flagship retail location had developed over a year. While in Orlando we toured the entire, expansive shop, did a little tidepooling in their mangrove lagoon, and on the way back stopped into their boutique location in Winter Park.
As if having one ultimate reef aquarium shop wasn’t enough, WWC saw fit to establish a satellite location around half an hour away to expand their reach in the metro Orlando aquarium market. This boutique little retail shop might be small but it still has more than enough fish, corals and gear to set up a dozen reef tanks on the spot and while it might have large glass tanks in stock, we’re pretty sure they could drive one over from the flagship location in a hurry.
Of course, everyone’s favorite thing to see at LFS is some nice displays and WWC’s Winter Park location has no fewer than five ranging from an in-wall, long 500 gallon reef to a totally bangin’ 3 gallon pico reef. We’re glad we got to see both of WWC’s Orlando retail locations and who knows, perhaps we are seeing the seed of the world’s first reef aquarium franchise, although this is purely speculation on our part.
