Aquarium brand Waterbox is taking preorders for a new range of tanks, cabinets, and hoods called Eden. Available in three colors and three model sizes, the Eden 20, 30, and 40 hold approximately 20, 30, and 40 gallons of water each and are 17.7”, 23.6”, and 31.5” long, respectively. Eden has broken with Waterbox’s rimless, lidless tradition however and features sliding black glass covers, and rear cut-outs for filter pipework along with a top and bottom trim, and is clearly being aimed at the tropical freshwater market. It doesn’t come with a built-in light fixture, however, and that’s what makes it interesting.
Watch the video, and Waterbox is offering Eden in a bare tank and cabinet form or an equipment bundle. For filtration, you can add a Sicce external canister filter at the point of purchase, but for lighting, they’re bundling Aquaillumination’s new freshwater Blade. Straightaway, that gives freshies one heck of a freshwater LED light, but more than one could be housed in there for the aquascaping guys, and of course for us, it gives us options for saltwater conversions with the Blade Grow and Glow.
Eden comes with modern cabinet designs and adjustable feet and is available in Black, White, and Aspen colors. As with all Waterbox tanks, the glass is ultra-low iron throughout, and (unless we’ve read this wrong,) you get a black vinyl wrap and black silicone with the black cabinet option and clear silicone (and maybe a light-colored background?) with the white and Aspen cabinet options. They’re nice-looking, modern aquariums for sale at $399, $499, and $649, it completes the Waterbox aquarium set, and we think that they will quickly receive requests to release larger, longer models. We’d like to see one salted-up and running Blades, too!
