Coralife Circulation Pump CP750 CP1300 CP2900 Powerheads coming

Coralife has new powerheads to compete with the likes of Hydor’s Koralia water pump. Coralife has 3 different models CP750, CP1300, and CP2900 with the last number showing how many gallons per hour (GPH) the pump push out. These pumps are attached to the aquarium by suction cups, which is poor considering magnet is now the norm in prop styled water movers. However, because they are targeted to compete with the Koralia’s these pumps should start out in the $30 range and top out at the upper $70 range. These have already started to ship to local retailers inside the United States. These pumps are identical to the NeWave water pump that is made in Italy for the European market (and they even follow the same numbering convention) but knowing Coralife these water pumps probably get their mold filled in China. A few more pictures by Aquanerd after the break.

  1. I like the suction cup. It looks the same style as a Garmin GPS and they hold really strong. The Aquamedic Ocean Prop and Newave pump suction cups looks similar so I would hardly call it the norm.

  2. U-G-L-Y you ain’t got no alibi…

These things are uglier than Koralia’s and look like hair driers ;)

  3. I just picked up one of these new pumps last night and I love it. I have a Koralia Mag 7 and the 2900 Coralife blows it away. I put the new pump on the opposite side of my 210 reef and will be replacing the Mag 7 on the other side with another 2900 as soon as I can. Much more affordable and even seems to be better built.

The suction cup is strong and holds great. I like the way it looks. Great functioning pump.

  4. We’ve been testing one in the office tank for a few days now. So far, so good!

  5. The prices you stated seem to be the wholesale prices, not retail. I would suspect them to be in line with the Koralia pricing
