Reef Doser the new iPhone App now available

13

Reef Doser is a new application that is available in the iTunes store. The iPhone/iPod app is a calculator that will help you calculate popular elements in a reef aquarium. Elements such as Calcium, Magnesium and alkalinity are already included as well as potassium, in a future release Iodine, Silicate, and Strontium will be added among others. You can purchase the app in the store for $2.99 with the store showing one review which didn’t like the app. It appears that this is a first release. We would like to see all major elements (around 13 or so) included besides only 4 which is what it looks like in the above screenshot. Come’on guys. Show us the element love.

Wow pay $2.99 for something that’s free on the internet? I don’t know if I want to be anywhere near my tank with my iPhone as clumsy as I am I’d have a new tank decoration in the tank! :D

Also really, there’s a dosing amount for “trace elements”. Didn’t know snake oil had a proper dosing regimen :D

I think “Trace Elements” is the header for the subsection like “Main Elements” at the top, not an actual product.

I’m in the hobby and i like supporting developers for their work. This app however has long way to go. If you are thinking of getting it, I advice for you not to until it provides the different brands of dosing products.

For the meantime, use this instead:

Thanks for the feedback, I did debate if Potassium was a main element as it’s level in NSW is high, but decided as it was used at such a low level by organisms to include it in the trace elements section. I still have a lot of features to add for sure, but hopefully you will find it a useful tool.
