Justin Muir, who owns and runs City Aquarium in Brooklyn, N.Y., has a unique business creating top-notch visual aquariums for clients around the New York City area. With celebrity, professional athlete and Wall Street moguls as clients, Muir’s clients often spend anywhere between $40,000 to $500,000 on these setups. “Science Friday” on NPR recently featured Muir, tagging along on a shopping trip as well as a visit to his incredible warehouse. As always, it’s great to see our wonderful hobby get some love in the mainstream press. selling/buying an animal because it matches the couch and drapes? IMO, this is the kind of press the hobby could do without.

how is this different from buying an animal because you what color it is?

I can see your point but how many times have we bought something because of the color or maybe not bought something because we have too much of one color in the tank? It is not that big of a deal unless you are putting species that don’t do well together all in one system.

Choosing a tank inhabitant based on color choice is not evil at all…it’s all about personal preference and if that happens to match the drapes, so be it.
