Aquarama 2013 brought some real specialties to Singapore like the Gold Nugget Maroon Clownfish from ORA; they are one of the coolest platinum clowns we’ve ever seen. The body is covered with pure white color except for the face and fin which is still deep maroon, making it look even more attractive to the clowns lover. However, these Premnas maroon clownfish will eventually turn gold since they are descendant of gold bar and gold flake maroon clownfish.
New Trio Aquatics import these unique Designers clownfish from the U.S. and claim that they are the first one who got the fish outside the country. There are a small group of 5-10 individuals swimming freely in a show tank along with their host Rose bubble tip anemone. The display caught the attention from all the serious reefer and rare fish enthusiast.
The price of the first release of the ORA Gold Nugget maroon clownfish is still very high, purported to be around US$1000 per fish which were all about two to three inches (5-7cm). But what is particularly interesting about the all white maroon clownfish is the size of the species, which will ultimately will grow to become much larger than currently domesticated species of platinum clownfish. So hopefully we will see how gorgeous it can be when it grows up to an adult in the very near future.
