GHL, which has been making reef tank monitoring equipment for several years, has announced the general availability of myGHL. myGHL is a cloud based GHL service that connects with other GHL services and allows you to see current states, initiate actions and make adjustments to your GHL aquarium controllers according to documents leaked to us.
The service will be available for many GHL products with Internet access. At the moment the “implementation for ProfiLux 3/3.1N is in the works and the support of further devices is under development” said GHL.
Additionally myGHL Control Center includes smartphone applications that you can download and monitor your controllers from your mobile devices. The software includes a main dashboard where you can see important “events” and control type settings. Next, you can dive deeper into sensor array control centers and even control dosing units if you desire.
Aquarium controller manufactures have been pushing cloud-based services this year in order to attract new customers and keep existing customers in the increasingly competitive world of aquarium monitoring. The push no doubt is coming from other companies like Ecotech Marine announcing their Ecosmart Live project allowing control of their own equipment. In addition, Neptune systems has upgraded their controllers and now offers a similar cloud based solution to their existing client base.
myGHL is expected to be available to consumers in the later half of 2014 and we are expecting the service to be included in the purchase of GHL aquarium control systems.
