Black Friday. The term can either bring excitement or groans depending on who and what we’re talking about. What used to be a crazy day of sales of your typical household goodies like clothes, appliances and the latest electronics, is now a month-long assault of teasers pre-sales, early bird sales, day after sales and more. For us hobbyists, it still means a time where we could get some damn good deals on things we wanted or needed for our aquarium.
Crack open your social media platform of choice or email inbox and there is no shortage of specials and deals going on! We used to try and build a post of all the great sales that have been going on — something we’ve done for the last nine years when we wrote our first Black Friday post back in 2009 — but it began to be just too much to keep track of in this digital age.
Rather than push out another post showcasing a handful of the deals available, we decided to take a step back. Heck, I wasn’t even going to post ANYTHING on Black Friday, but here I am on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving feeling a bit disappointed I didn’t write anything. So I had a great idea.
Similar to our Black Friday survey we rolled out back in 2015, let’s get through the weekend, buy some cool stuff and after the dust settles, let’s look at running another survey looking at what we bought, how much we spent, how pleased we were with the deals and maybe look at ways to make next year even better.
Come on back next week and take the survey! Until then, have a great weekend and enjoy our complete history of Black Friday posts:
