The Syncra SDC 3.0 is a new controllable pump from Sicce that the Italian manufacturer has just taken the wraps off of. The three point O is the smallest model in the Syncra SDC line joining the 6.0, 7.0 and 9.0 with flow rates up topping out at 2,377 gallons per hour so the Syncra SDC 3.0 slots in quite nicely with a maximum flow of 800 gallons per hour.
It’s not just the flow which is diminutive as the smaller SDC 3.0 is just under five inches at its longest, 2.5 inches at its widest and is an ideal size for use in all but the smallest of All in One aquariums. The cool thing about using the Syncra SDC 3.0 as the primary return pump for AIO tanks is that you’ll have access to different modes of water flow in addition to smart programming features to help vary the flow if you should so desire.
It doesn’t appear that Sicce’s clever intake strainer yet exists for protecting the intake of the Syncra SDC 3.0 but it does come with variable diameter hose barbs to accomodate a wide range of tubing sizes for easier, streamlined installation. The 800 gallons per hour maximum flow rate of the SDC 3.0 may not seem all that impressive but it’s got great pressure and we rarely run our larger controllable DC pump at maximum output anyway.
The Sicce Syncra SDC 3.0 might be a mouthful to say but the wireless setup of the pump controller enjoys the same bluetooth-assisted wifi programming as the newly announced PSK 1200 SDC making access to the ContrAll app easier than ever. Sicce’s shiny new DC pump will start shipping worldwide over the next few weeks for $199 which is very reasonable considering that Sicce is a premium Italian pump company with real customer support and an industry leading 5 year warranty.
