Aperture Pet & Life has announced that it is now the new, exclusive distributor of Aquaforest products in the US. Owners of BRS, EcoTech, and Neptune Systems, the biggest mover and shaker in reefing continue to surprise us, this time not with a purchase of a company but a distribution deal instead.
Polish company Aquaforest is equally rapid in its growth and ambition, known mainly for its coral care products but now comprising a huge product portfolio with everything from sand and rock to tanks, skimmers, and plant food. The above brands and companies will have crossed paths at many shows and in many territories around the world, so it’s inevitable that these forward thinkers have cross-pollinated to further build a fuller, more complete reef product offering to their retail and wholesale customer bases. In reciprocation for distributing Aquaforest in the US, Aquaforest has confirmed exclusively to Reefbuilders that it will be distributing EcoTech products in Poland. This news comes just in time for Interzoo in Germany, where Aquaforest is exhibiting this week.
What it means
Bulk Reef Supply is now already displaying the full Aquaforest line-up of products (including many new ones,) and according to the press release retailers who wish to stock Aquaforest should now approach their Aperture sales representative or visit the wholesale portal for more details. Aquaforest was previously distributed in the US by CoralVue, distributors of IceCap, Focustronic, Hydros, Reef Octopus, Maxspect, and Philips. So it will be interesting to see what other brands or companies will be either bought or distributed by Aperture in the future and if we start to see any polarisation of brands who are either opting in or out of the Aperture reef supply venture. Like our previous posts on Aperture, we remain optimistic about the potential of having all these great minds and their team members together in one reefing melting pot. The investment, innovation, and expansion of our industry also demonstrate how far it has come and helps to cement its future.
