Digital Aquatic’s new promotional video is not at all over the top

After watching this new promotional video from Digital Aquatics we’re not sure if we’re going to see a movie about a shaky deep sea space or if Digital Aquatics is promoting it’s highly expandable aquarium controller. We’ve watched some zany epileptic seizure-inducung Japanese programs in our day but this video made us far more dizzy. You know we love you DA, we’re just saying that this video might have been made using a little too much red bull. For a more toned down look at the Digital Aquatics product line see this video by Vimeo user Minh. It’s anyone’s guess as to whether or not future ReefKeeper controllers will speak to you with that robotic female voice.
Stop hating Jake…I thought it was a cool video. And I wouldn’t mind if that voice spoke to me reminding me that my PH is 8.2

Haha I can just see it now, readjusting your probe and program variables every five seconds just to hear her…it….

I liked it, very techy.

At the start I was waiting for the “In a world” guy to start talking.

This post has made quite a stir in our local reef forums where the author of the videos reside: http://www.sdreefs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53907.

Over all I thought the video was great. Being someone who does 3d art, I can appreciate the text sequences in the water. I thought that part flowed very smoothly and was quite good. I could have done without a lot of that “twitching” in the beginning though. Its good, but it should have stopped once the camera goes into the water. The water should have an enveloping and “safe” feel, but when the twitching kept going, that feeling was lost.

Can we opt in for different voice overs? Maybe MR. T or Gilbert Godfried?
“Plug in your pump fool!”

i actually disagree with this post. i prefer these videos over most others i’ve seen. the production work is much better than those that are done here at reef builders. the ‘over the top’ness of the video adds to the viral effect and professional style thats missing all the other reef related videos i’ve seen.

I like the vids. I think that “Ted” posted some very good constructive criticism on the water feeling smoother once you enter it. Great idea! And I think the robot girl voice is a good idea… what would you wanna listen to? Some 1-900 sexy voice talking about a controller? …. wait don’t answer that.
