By Jake Adams on Jun 24, 2009
If you’ve ever wondered what deep sea and cold water corals are like, the Scottish website Lophelia.org is the ultimate hub of information for the corals which build these little known ecosystems. Deep water corals have been in the news a lot these days and new discoveries are being made from Canada to the deeps of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Lophelia.org contains many images, movies, articles and even a screensaver for PC users. The ocean bottoms are literally teeming with giant, ancient and unusual coral reefs; the information is out there and it’s up to us to look for it. Reef Builders is a fan of all things marine and deep sea corals are no exception, look out for future entries on Bathyphyllus, Lophelia and Corallium.
