Sun Coral or Tubastra coccinea played out on HD video

By on Feb 18, 2010

The Sun Coral or Tubastra coccinea is not shy when it comes to the camera. This famous coral has been played out countless times across a host of different programs including Earth HD. That isn’t to stop the coral guys at Coralmorphologic from dragging their HD camera out and capturing the Sun coral chowing down on passing zooplankton. And like always, they do such a good job of it, we can’t stop but watching the video over and over. Perhaps in time we might see all their videos patched together to form one mega High definition  DVD?  “This film was sped up 10 times to emphasize the feeding abilities and coordination between the sticky tentacles and the polyps’ mouths.” Sticky indeed.

Man those non-photosynthetic corals seem to always be so colorful. I really wish I had the patience/time to feed them.
