Nano Hang on skimmer from Bubble Magus, the NAC QQ

By on May 14, 2010

The NAC QQ Nano Hang skimmer from Bubble Magus is an adorable little fractionator for the masses. The Hang on moniker is a little deceptive because instead of hanging on the outside of your tank, this little tyke likes to hang out in your tank, in plain sight for all your corals and fish to see it’s undercarriage. Like other Bubble Magus cylinders, it has a pump, it has a cylinder and it has blue fittings that do absolutely nothing to disguise themselves when running on the inside of your tank. Unless the Nano NAC QQ is meant to hang on the inside of your sump, we can’t imagine this skimmer beging highly desirable with such an awesome option like the Slim Skim Nano from Hydor. Unless it is really affordable, like stupid cheap.

We spoke to Bubble Magus a month ago about this when we got the release notes and pricing. It is designed in the main for nanos with sumps, however it does have one advantage being in tank and that is if you forget to empty the cup you dont end up with green/brown gunge all over the shag pile it will just end up back where it came from, in the tank. This is one issue with hang on backs, the flood factor.

The BM-QQ the one previous to this sold well and I think marketed to the right arena and set up they will be quite popular.

price wise, yes will be quite competitive.

    Time will tell though.

appears might not matter for QT tanks if it out performs other nanos and is stable.
